The Print Art Exhibition feat. Visitors from Worldwide!

April 15th, 2014

The Print Exhibition has been going all week–from April 13th to the 19th, this Saturday–and it’s been attractive a wildly diverse collection of visitors all the while!

Seen above is a family visiting us from France whom we caught on Monday, admiring the illustrative achievements of artist Shin Harajuku.

The children seemed particularly fascinated by the poster above, made up of kanji characters.

It was so great to see them so eagerly sharpening their sense via exposure to such a wide variety of artistic mediums, and they looked so happy with their giant marshmallows.

Next up was a group of musicians and video game designers from South Korea. The work of artist Shin Harajuku attracted them at once, as well!

As every member of the group is also studying Japanese, they got to challenge their linguistic skills via the discussion of music and cinema with staff member Kenya.

They even wrote an introduction to the Print Art Exhibition in Hangul, for the convenience of other South Korean visitors! We are totally excited for the chance for this exhibition to take on this new dimension, all in thanks to these generous visitors!

As seen in the picture above, from left to right, is myself, musician Junhee and video game designers Kim Woobong and Kim Gwang Hyun. We’ve linked their names to their blogs, so go pay them a visit!

And here we have brothers Anael (back) and Axel (front), born in France but visiting us from where they live in Belgium. They told us they have plans to travel all over Japan, of which they seem very fond, including Kyoto and Nara.

Axel is also a print artist himself. He was particularly interested in the wood cut prints by artist Tomoe Enomoto. He expressed a lot of curiosity over how the prints are made, saying he was particularly attracted by the atmosphere of the artist’s work.

Here you can see screen-printed shirts Axel designed, which include the one his brother Anael is wearing.

For more of Axel’s work, be sure to check out his website!

It’s been such an honor to welcome travelers from so many places worldwide here at our Print Exhibition. Ends Saturday the 19th!
