“REFLECTIONS” is a thought-provoking group exhibition on the role of the artist in the current state of the world.
Planned by five artists who initially felt internal conflict about making art during the genocide in Palestine, but realized that they could use their art to help raise funds and awareness. They then reached out to other artists including Palestinian artists to create this dynamic multimedia experience of an exhibition.
現代の世界における、アーティストの役割を探る感動的なグループ展示「 REFLECTIONS」
主催の5人は、パレスチナの惨状の間にアートを作ることに対して違和感を感じ、そのアートを募金や意識を広める行動に。
他のアーティストに声をかけ、このダイナミックなマルチメディア体験の展示を作り上げました。
Exhibition statement / 展示の意図

As the main curator of this exhibition, Aishah’s opening statement, reflection wall, and discussion card game truly brought the exhibit to become an interactive place of reflection.
Her photographs and selected quotes evoke a feeling of the beauty of finding meaning in life and art.
本展示のメインキュレーターであるAishahさんによる展示の意図、振り返り壁、そしてディスカッションカードゲームは、展示全体に深く考える場として命を吹き込みました。
彼女の写真と選び抜かれた言葉は、人生やアートの中に意味を探すことの美しさを感じさせてくれます。
KENFROG @kenfrog
Kenfrog’s main piece is a beautiful and detailed homage to symbols of Palestine painted with acrylic with white and gold pen.
Ken’s work has evolved over past years as he went from floral pieces to those with more meaning and intent.
KENFROGさんのメイン作品は、アクリル絵具と白と金のペンで描かれた、パレスチナのシンボルを入れた美しく緻密な作品です。
彼の作品は、過去数年の間に花をモチーフにしたものから、より意味と意図を込めたものへと進化してきました。
He also did a livepainting while fellow artist Shadee sang her original songs with guitar each day of the exhibition, painting symbols of both Palestine and Japan onto the Palestinian flag, reminding us that we are all connected.
また、会期中毎日アーティストShadeeさんの弾き語りと一緒にライブペイントを行いました。
パレスチナの旗にパレスチナと日本の象徴を使って、私たちが皆つながっていることを思い出させるために毎日描き足していきました。

Mai’s photography shows scenes of of everyday life, with a scene of the Hiwatari-sai or Fire Walking Festival ritual at Mt. Takao in the center,
eliciting the feeling of both formal and informal ritual in life.
This was her first time displaying her work in a gallery and was moved by many people’s interpretations of her work.
Maiさんの写真は、日常の習慣を見せながら、中央には高尾山で行われた火渡り祭の儀式の様子が写されており、
私たちの暮らしの中にある、「儀式」の感覚を呼び起こします。
今回が初めてのギャラリー展示となったMaiさんは、多くの人々が作品にさまざまな解釈を寄せてくれたことに深く感動していましたそうです。
NYMPHMAWAR @nymphmawar
Nymphmawar’s textile piece is a reflection of what she could have been if the British had not colonized her home country of Malaysia. The piece is titled “Rindu” which means “miss” both in the feeling and the “lack of.”

Nymphmawarさんのテキスタイル作品は、イギリスに母国のマレーシアが植民地化されていなければ、自分はどのような存在になっていたのか、という思索を反映した作品です。
作品タイトルの「Rindu（リンドゥ）」は、「恋しさ」「懐かしさ」といった感情を表すと同時に、「欠如」や「不在」といった意味も含んでいます。
その下の絵画はNymphmawarさんの母(@art.bylins)による作品になります。

Shadee displayed her emotional 1st EP “I’ll Know Forever” with a beautifully handmade packaging including a zine-like lyricbook and a hand-sewn binding. She also performed with Kenfrog in a live music and painting performance mentioned above. More on her project can be found at shadee.online
Shadeeさんは、自身の感情を込めた初EP『I’ll Know Forever』を展示しました。手作りのパッケージには、
ZINEのようなリリックブックや手縫いの製本が施されており、彼女のこだわりが感じられます。
また、上記で紹介したライブペインティングでは、KENFROGと共に弾き語りとアートのパフォーマンスを披露しました。

Bringing in guests from all around the world, I’m sure this exhibit has made an impact on many, showing the many uses of art as a conversation starter and tool to change how we think about the world around us and what we can do to help each other.
世界中から来客を招いたこの展示は、多くの人々に衝撃を与えたに違いないです。私たちを生きる世界についてどう考えるか、そして互いを助けるために何ができるかための会話のきっかけとして、アートのさまざまな用途を示しました。
I look forward to seeing what these many talented artists are able to create in the future as well.
才能あふれるアーティストたちが、今後どんな作品を生み出してくれるのか、私も楽しみにしています。
